Overview
The 4th Annual Heartland Film Festival took place November 9-12, 1995, and screened 6 films at the United Artists Circle Centre. More than $100,000 was awarded at the Crystal Heart Awards Gala to the filmmakers behind the film screened at the Festival.
Horton Foote attended the Festival and was honored with the Career Achievement Award presented by Gary Sinise.Special guests of the Festival include Hank Aaron (baseball star of Hank Aaron: Chasing the Dream), Mike Tollin (Filmmaker, Hank Aaron), Babra Martin Chase (Filmmaker, Hank Aaron), Wallace Shawn (Actor, Just Like Dad), Winston Groom (Writer, Forrest Gump, TMPA Award), Frank Darabont (Director, Shawshank Redemption, TMPA Award), and Jeffrey Kluger (Author, Apollo 13 based on the book Lost Moon: The Perilous Voyage of Apollo, TMPA Award). Awards presenters included Karl Malden, Kim Hunter, Angelo Pizzo, Sterling VanWagenen. Michael Medved was a workshop presenter and Jeffrey Lyons was the Master of Ceremonies.
