Overview
The 18th Annual Heartland Film Festival took place October 15-24, 2009, and screened 64 films at the AMC Theaters Castleton Square and the AMC Theaters Greenwood. The theme for the festival was Escape to the Heartland Film Festival.
Co-founder of Pixar and President of Disney Animation/Pixar, Ed Catmull, attended the Festival and was honored with the Pioneering Spirit Award. Other special guests include Michael Orin Scott (Filmmaker, The Horse Boy) and Vicki Wong (Filmmaker, Hachi: A Dog’s Tale).
