Overview
The 25th Annual Heartland Film Festival took place October 20-30, 2016, and hosted screenings at the AMC Castleton Square Theater and the AMC Showplace Traders Point. The theme for the festival was International Films, Hoosier Hospitality.
“The Book of Love” was the Opening Night film and leading stars Jessica Biel and Brian Dennehy attended the screening. Heartland Film honored both actors with the Pioneering Spirit Lifetime Achievement Award. Special guests at the Festival include actor Richard Robixhaux, director Rory Feek, actor John Rhys-Davies, Ebola Survivor from the film “Facing Darkness” Dr. Kent Brantley, and actor Quinton Aaron.
Heartland Film also hosted the Heartland Film Festival Summer Rewind in June of 2016 at the Heartland Basile Theatre, the Wheeler Arts Community and the Athenaeum.
