Overview
The 5th Annual Heartland Film Festival took place November 18-27, 1996, and screened 9 films at the United Arts Theatre Circle Centre and the Artcraft Theatre: Franklin, IN, More than $100,000 was awarded at the Crystal Heart Awards Gala to the filmmakers behind the film screened at the Festival.
Special guests of the Festival include Richard Dreyfus (Actor, Mr. Holland’s Opus, TMPA Award), Christine Cavanaugh (Actor, voice of Baba, TMPA Award), Scott Derrickson (Filmmaker), Bob Balaban (Actor), Bobby Plump, and Hoosiers basketball players
Festival presenters included Robert Wise, Angelo Pizzo, David Anspaugh, Charles Chaplin, Roger Courts, and Michael Medved.
