Overview
The 7th Annual Heartland Film Festival took place October 21-27, 1998, and screened 10 films at the IMAX Theater, Indianapolis Art Center, United Artists Theatres Galaxy 14, and United Artists Theatres Circle Center. More than $100,000 was awarded at the Crystal Heart Awards Gala to the filmmakers behind the film screened at the Festival.
Karl Malden attended the Festival and was honored with the Career Achievement Award. Other special guests include Carroll Baker (Actor, How the West Was Won), Robert Duvall (Actor, The Apostle), Judy Stewart-Merrill (Daughter of Jimmy Stewart), Matt Williams, Co-Creator of Home Improvement), Jamie Redford (Execuative Producer, The Kindness of Strangers), John Beasley (Actor, The Apostle), and Jon Dye was the Master of Ceremonies.
