The Inaugural Indy Shorts International Film Festival ran at Newfields July 26-29, 2018, and screened 100 short films. Indy Shorts is the largest short film festival in the Midwest, and the Festival awarded more than $25,000 in cash prizes. Most importantly, the spokesgnome Iggy Shorts was introduced bringing a playful and fun summer atmosphere to the Academy Award®-Qualifying film festival. Three Indy Shorts selections were nominated for the 91st Academy Awards®.
