The 3rd Annual Indy Shorts International Film Festival ran as a hybrid model with virtual and drive-in screenings at Tibbs Drive-In Theatre, July 21-26,2020! This was a unique year for us, but we were still able to award more than $30,000 in cash prizes, present 128 films on a secure virtual platform, host 5 drive-in screenings, showcase 182 filmmakers from all over the world for live virtual Q&A sessions, and achieve the 5050X2020 Parity Pledge with 50% of the Festival’s lineup directed and co-directed by women.  

This was the first year that Indy Shorts became a three-category, Academy Award®-Qualifying film festival with the addition of the Animated Short Film category, and six Indy Shorts selections were nominated for the 93rd Academy Awards®.
